Therapeutic Head Massage

Trauma-informed and consent-based

Welcome to

Something different

This is *not* your traditional deep tissue massage.

While most massages focus on strokes and tissue manipulation, this massage has been designed to focus on increasing your sense of safety and soothing your nervous system.

Informed by a consent framework and reduced activity, it will give your body time and space to relearn that touch can be safe, nurturing and guided by you.

Imagine

Your needs at the centre

The first time you attend, we’ll spend a good while talking: fine-tuning what you want and don’t. We’ll practice expressing a change in needs, so you know that your changing self is valid and welcomed in this space.

Once we have a better understanding of each other, you may be ready to let go of the talking and allow yourself to feel more for a while. My focus at this stage is on creating a space for co-regulation, and this translates in what I call ‘minimal massage’: less movements, slower movements, more connected pauses…

Time to think

Is this for you?

It is for you if you are looking to prioritise nervous system regulation and feeling safer in your body while in connection with someone else.

It won’t feel like a traditional massage. My clients often mention feeling like they’re children again, being held lovingly by a granny or other dear family memmber.

“Our brains are wired for connection, but trauma rewires them for protection. That’s why healthy relationships are difficult for wounded people”
